Welcome back to the Transform Your Mind to Change from Your Life, the podcast. You're listening to Five Minute Fridays Wake Coach Murray. So today I want to talk on the topic the four seasons of your inner garden. So just want to set the table to let you know that life moves in seasons, just like a garden, just like nature, everything is seasonal. And your life is no different. So in your life, you're going to experience the winter, the spring, summer, and fall. It doesn't always follow that pattern, but you are going to experience all four. And each season has a purpose, and each one acts something different from us. So let's start off with winter. We know what winter is. Winter is cold, winter is harsh, winter is where you need to cover up, right? And you know, you can also think of winter as you know, you're being by the fireplace and being warmed. It has positives as well as negatives. But it is usually an example of a difficult time, right? It is cold, nothing grows, it is harsh, you stay out too long, you're gonna get, you know, uh crucified by the elements. So it is a period of difficulty. It brings the cold, darkness, harsh conditions in our lives, and winter may look like trauma, loss, disappointment, betrayal, or uncertainty. We're not just talking about the physical aspects, we're talking about the emotional and mental aspects of winter months, right? But the good thing about it is why I want to share this with you, is that you shouldn't wish your winters away. Because winter is your teacher, it teaches you how to survive difficult conditions, it forces you to grow roots, to grow deeper. It teaches wisdom, strength, patience, and resilience. And guess what? If you didn't have any harsh times, then you're not going to be able to enjoy the beautiful times. If you don't have winter, you're not gonna be able to enjoy the spring because you're not even gonna know what spring is, right? There's always polarity in life, and then there's the good and there's the bad, and both are required in order for you to live a complete life. So you're not gonna choose winter, but it's important for our seasons, right? You cannot choose, but you can choose who you become from it, right? There's some people that love the winter, some people that go skiing and go tobogame, and they love the winter. You know, most of us think of it as hard. So that's the same way you've gotta learn to love something about your winter season, right? But and one of the things you're gonna love is that you know, in the natural universe of the law, spring comes right after winter. So just like you say the darkest part of the night is just before dawn. Well, yes, whenever you're going through harsh times, know that spring is around the corner. It might not come tomorrow, or might not come in three months, but it's gonna come, right? So after winter comes the spring, the ground begins to soften, light returns, new possibilities emerge. But spring requires action. Every gardener knows, and I'm talking to you with the mindset of a gardener, right? You are the gardener of your life, right? Every gardener knows that spring is when you plant your seeds, and if you don't plant when the opportunity presents itself, you cannot expect a harvest in the fall. You cannot expect it anytime, right? So this is the analogy of your mind. Spring is when you begin planting new thoughts, new beliefs, new habits, and a new story about who you are and who you are becoming. All it takes is inception, all you've got to do is plant it in there. Doesn't take you any kind of skill other than planting what you want, affirmations, telling life what you want, and then you expect it to show up because no point planting a seed and don't expect it to grow. You've got to plant it and expect that it will grow. So when you start planting new thoughts and new beliefs, you're knowing that it's cultivating the soil of your mind, and then positive things are gonna grow. New positive experience is gonna come from it because that is your plant. And after spring comes the summer, the season of nourishment and protection. I can't remember that. I remember the first time I heard Jim Rowan says that in the summer is when you protect. Never heard of that before. When you protect what you've been planted, because if you don't protect it, then guess what? You're not gonna have a harvest in the fall. So this is where you hold on to whatever you've got and you protect it. You also nourish it because yes, those plants need to be nourished, they need water and they need sunlight and they need positive thoughts. You know, the stuff that you planted is the weeds are gonna come up and get rid of it unless you keep weeding and you keep, you know, planting it, putting sunshine and giving it water, giving it nourishment. And the nourishment are positive thoughts. You planted your seeds, now you have to take care of what you're planted. You cannot plant a garden and forget about it. Of course, you can, but it's not going to be a garden, it's gonna be an unkempt forest because the weeds are gonna take over the plants, right? Your flowers also need sunlight, they need water, they need nutrients, they need protection from the weeds, right? The same is true when you are healing. You can plant new beliefs, as such as I am worthy, I am safe, I am enough. My past does not define me. But planting those thoughts once isn't enough. You have to nourish them until their roots become stronger than the beliefs that they're replacing. You gotta make sure that you're you're you have deep roots because if you don't have deep roots, guess what? The little wind is gonna come, someone is gonna come and say something to you, and you're gonna blow away like the you know, like a straw because you don't have deep roots. And when you plant deep roots with your beliefs and your thoughts, then someone coming by and telling you something negative is not gonna move you, you're gonna stand strong because you know what is true. So you're also nourishing your nourishing your flowers, and you have to pull the weeds. The the weeds are the negative thoughts that either come from inception or come from your internal dialogue, right? Because if you have trauma and if you've had some bad things happen to you, then your internal dialogue is telling you things, whether it's you not worthy or it was your fault or something that you did was wrong that you caused it, all those different things are playing in your mind. And when they come, you don't you don't try to suppress them. When you come, when they come, you acknowledge them and then you let them float away because thoughts are not fact unless you make them fact, right? Your weeds can also be things like resentment and anger and shame and unforgiveness and fear or the old stories you've been telling yourself for years, right? All those things you need to pluck out because resentment and anger and shame and unforgiveness and fear is not doing your plants any good. It's not doing your garden or your seasons any good, it's pushing you back into the winter, right? And here you are in the summer, where you should be protecting the good seeds that you planted, not letting the you know the the weeds take over your plants that's been planted. So weeds compete with flowers for nutrients. So when you've got those thoughts like anger and resentment and shame and all that, it's competing with your positive thoughts that says, I am worthy, I am enough, I'm a woman any man can love, right? I am the head and not the tail, I'm the lender and not the borrower. Those are the things that you need to be saying to yourself. Those are the seeds that you need to be planting. And when the other one comes around, you know, like shame or you know, resentment or the big one, unforgiveness, right? It's plucking all those seeds up, right? It's it's it's not sorry, it's not plucking the seeds up, it is covering them up because it's overshadowing them and taking away all their sunlight, right? Even the water, it's competing for it. So you need you need to pluck them up. You're the one that needs to pluck them up, right? So, in the same way as resentment and anger and shame and unforgiveness consume your emotional energy that could be feeding your peace, creativity, relationships, purpose, and joy, right? That's what you want, that's what you're growing, right? And that's what you want. And there's also something every gardener understands weeding is not a one-time event. Hey, you pull those thoughts up today, they come back tomorrow. I did an episode years ago that talked about uh ants, which is automatic negative thoughts, right? They come all the time. You don't invite them, they just pop up, and you have got to be weeding them out all the time, daily, weekly, monthly, all the time. So if you don't weed, you know, you don't just weed your garden once and announce my garden is healed, right? No, you gotta keep doing it because new weeds appear. I just mentioned some, but there's more that comes every day. Somebody didn't call you back after you went out for a date, and all of a sudden another one comes up. You're ugly, you're you know, you're not exciting, you're whatever. New weeds come up all the time, so you have got to keep tending your garden. And whenever possible, pull the weeds when they're small. You ever tried to pull up a weed that's been there for a while? It's like a freaking tree. You can't get it up because it has taken root. So you have got to challenge any new thought that comes up, right? So, yeah, you you can't let these thoughts go unchallenged. You've got to challenge them because if you don't challenge them, any repeated thoughts become a belief. You know, give an example I just give. You know, you went out on a date and somebody doesn't call you back, and you thinking that something is wrong with you, and sure enough, it's going to become a belief because the next time you go out, that's how you're gonna feel. It becomes your identity. So you gotta pull them up and say, hey, there's nothing wrong with me, there's something wrong with him. I am a woman that any man can love, and I got a lot to bring to the table. And keep your self-confidence going, right? Don't let anyone take it away from you. All right, so don't allow the weeds of your mind to grow unattended until they choke the sunlight from your flowers. Remembering that's what we're planting. We're planting a garden with flowers, something that beautifies the world, something that smells good, right? Someone that everybody wants to look at and smile. So notice them, pull them, then keep nourishing what you want to grow. And eventually, fall arrives, which is what what everybody waits for. Fall is the season of the harvest. You reap what you have sown, what you have planted blooms, right? Whether it's your flower, plants, whatever you're planting, blooms. And this is when you begin to experience the fruits of all the inner work you've done. Peace, where there is once anxiety, that's what you grow, girl. Forgiveness, where there is once resentment, confidence, where there was once shame, purpose where there was once pain. The seasons teach us something important about transformation. You cannot demand the harvest during the winter. It's not the season, it's gotta wait till the fall, right? You cannot skip planting in the spring, you cannot neglect your garden during the summer. You gotta protect it, you gotta weed it, you gotta nourish it, right? Else you're not gonna get anything in the fall to reap, right? And you cannot expect to harvest what you've not planted. This is the most important thing I've said so far, right? You know, there's Bible verse that says the Lord will allow you to reap where you have not sown. Yes, that is when we bring the spiritual spiritual in. But we're talking about what you can do, we're talking about your inner self, we're talking about you as a whole being. You cannot reap where you have not planted, right? And every season has a purpose. So, whatever season you're in at today, honor it. Knows that it will change, it is never here forever, right? Learn in your winter, plant in your spring, nourish and protect in your summer, and when fall comes, enjoy the flowers that you've worked so hard to grow, right? Enjoy the peace, enjoy the beauty, enjoy abundance, right? Because yeah, replanting those seeds too. Enjoy abundance, right? So, thank you for tuning in to this week's episode of Transform Your Mind with Coach Myrna. Today we're talking about the inner mind, the inner garden, and what you can do to move it along through the seasons. I hope that you found some nuggets in this conversation. And if you know of someone that can benefit from these nuggets, right? Especially if someone is in the winter season, we need to encourage them, right? Share it, like it, comment. I would love that. And also the algorithm's love that. So thanks for tuning in. Until next time, Namasty.
